Pregnancy has definitely changed my skin, especially the part about being exhausted all the time! As the weeks go by it’s gotten harder to look refreshed so I’ve made a few adjustments to my skincare routine to help look well rested but stay simple enough for a mommy on the go!
I start off my day by splashing some cold water on my face to quickly wake up my skin, following up with my Kora Organics Foaming Cleanser. This wash is great at cleaning your skin of impurities but doesn’t dry it out since it doesn’t contain any soap. I then spritz with some rose water for hydration and finish with Vasseur Day 25 Cream to protect my skin from the sun.
Finally, the best change I’ve made is including the 100% Pure Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream. I don’t indulge in much caffeine these days so I get it through my eye cream instead! It’s perfect for de-puffing tired eyes and reducing dark circles. I’ve seen a big difference when using this cream and absolutely recommend it for anyone looking for brighter, more “awake” eyes.
Also, all of these products contain clean, natural ingredients that will indulge your skin with some antioxidants throughout the day! This will help keep your skin looking fresh and well rested as well.
I do most of my skincare preparation at night since it’s when I have the most time, and the ingredients can work all night while you’re sleeping. While I’m in the shower I start off by removing my makeup with either my Kora Organics Foaming Cleanser or the Moody Sisters Purifying Clay Facial Bar if I’m feeling particularly spotty. Next I exfoliate, which I do daily to keep my skin looking awake and to encourage cell regeneration. I use the Kora Organics Exfoliating Cream, which has been excellent for brightening my skin. It’s also gentle enough that I don’t need to worry about it harming my skin when I apply it.
When I’m out of the shower I spritz with my rose water again and finally apply Beauty Counter’s Soothing Face Oil. It took a long time for me to get into face oils but now I’m afraid to say I’m hooked! They plump up the skin, fight the signs of aging, they’re super moisturizing and don’t cause breakouts. Instead they calm the skin and offer great protection. I even apply it around my eyes to apply the benefits there as well!
A few times a week I’ll steam my face after I get out of the shower and apply a mask. I try to switch up my masks so my skin doesn’t get used to any one in particular, but lately I’ve been loving Pangea’s Acai and Goji Berry Mask. It looks pretty scary when you apply it, but when you take it off you definitely get a nice glow! I use it before big events as well.
So whether I get a good night’s sleep or not, these steps help keep my skin looking (hopefully) fresh and awake! Hoping they help brighten your day as well (pun intended!).
